Commercial Space

On the ground floor, 21,000 square feet of commercial space will have a decidedly food and health-oriented focus; for example, the Accelerator Kitchen, which will be an intermediate step toward sole proprietorship for graduates of ANC’s Incubator Kitchen, which supports entry-level food entrepreneurs. The Accelerator, along with ANC’s 6-year old Incubator Kitchen, will create a pipeline of small-scale food processing/small business development infrastructure on the block.

In addition, the commercial area will feature a 40-year old food co-op (ELFCO) with a focus on locally grown/raised/processed foods and an Ingham Health Centers Clinic. Indeed, the commercial areas are nearly fully subscribed by entities drawn to the synergy created by co-locating in a complex that features a health enrollment site, a weekly, year-round farmers market, multiple shared use kitchens, and the mid-Michigan food hub linking local growers to commercial, institutional, and individual buyers.
